PEPPERPOT RUM SHOP - OPENING MAY 8TH 2024
Explore a fusion of culture and cuisine as Andi Oliver’s best-selling cookbook, The Pepperpot Diaries, is transformed into a festival of food, mixology, and culture in a unique and immersive 100-day experience on the islands of Antigua and Barbuda
London/Date – Details have been announced for the inaugural Pepperpot Rum Shop pop-up experience in the historic Fort James area of Antigua. The collaboration between celebrity Chef Andi Oliver, the Treehouse Beach Club and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority launches on 4th May.
Over 100 sun-soaked days, the Pepperpot Rum Shop will showcase a melting pot of delicious food, drinks and iconic cultural touchstones inspired by Andi’s recipes and Antiguan heritage. Set in a prime location at one of Antigua’s newest beachfront venues, the Treehouse Beach Club, the launch also marks the start of the vibrant Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week (4th-19th May) which attracts food lovers and travellers from around the world. These innovative island experiences will be a true celebration of Caribbean gastronomy and culture.
Inspired by some of the dishes created for Andi’s successful London restaurant Wadadli Kitchen, and Andi’s touching foodie memoir, Pepperpot Diaries, visitors will be treated to some of Andi’s most celebrated dishes, like chocolate curry goat, alongside some innovative new recipes created for the event based on the availability of local ingredients.
Andi says, “I’m so thrilled to be showcasing some exciting recipes as part of Pepperpot Rum Shop on the stunning twin island of Antigua and Barbuda. Caribbean food hasn’t been codified in quite the same way as French and Italian and yet there are more than 5 ways you can make rice and peas, countless recipes for BBQ chicken and at least three different kinds of pepperpot! I can’t wait to share some of the dishes inspired by friends, family and my Antiguan heritage.”
The highly anticipated T20 CRICKET WORLD CUP will also coincide with the Pepperpot Rum Shop 100 days. Antigua and Barbuda are proud to announce that it will host the second-highest number of matches among all hosting venues, with a total of 8 action-packed games scheduled.
As part of the celebrations, The Pepperpot Rum Shop will be setting up a dynamic location where cricket fans can come together to soak up the energy and enjoy a variety of activities. West Indies captain Sir Richie Richardson will also be joining the festivities as an ambassador, engaging with fans and participating in various Pepperpot Rum Shop events throughout the World Cup.
The Pepperpot Rum Shop 100 Days will include a curated programme of events including film, wellness, art, and music events including performances from DJ Spoony throughout the opening. This not-to-be-missed event is perfect for independent travellers, digital nomads, families’ foodies, and all those looking to dive headfirst into a truly authentic and incomparable Antigua and Barbuda experience.

ABOUT ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA
Antigua (pronounced An-tee'ga) and Barbuda (Bar-byew’da) is located in the heart of the Caribbean Sea. The twin-island paradise offers visitors two uniquely distinct experiences, ideal temperatures year-round, a rich history, vibrant culture, exhilarating excursions, award-winning resorts, mouth-watering cuisine and 365 stunning pink and white-sand beaches - one for every day of the year. The largest of the English-speaking Leeward Islands, Antigua comprises 108 square miles with rich history and spectacular topography that provides a variety of popular sightseeing opportunities. Nelson’s Dockyard, the only remaining example of a Georgian fort a listed UNESCO World Heritage site, is perhaps the most renowned landmark. Antigua’s tourism events calendar includes the Antigua and Barbuda Wellness Month, Run in Paradise, prestigious Antigua Sailing Week, Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week, Antigua and Barbuda Art Week and the annual Antigua Carnival; known as the Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival. Barbuda, Antigua’s smaller sister island, is the ultimate celebrity hideaway. The island lies 27 miles north-east of Antigua and is just a 15-minute plane ride away. Barbuda is known for its untouched 11-mile stretch of pink sand beach and as the home of the largest Frigate Bird Sanctuary in the Western Hemisphere.
